Post-Op

Two days after surgery and my son is home. He is walking with the aid of crutches but has very little pain. The stitches on both feet must remain dry until they are removed 15 days after the surgery. The procedure is named after a Dr. Castaman, an Italian. Our Consultant explained that the procedure is practiced quite widely on the Continent but not such much elsewhere.

I won't try to explain in my lay man's terms what exactly happended but a type of screw is placed into each foot. I will try and find a good link to add when I upload the pictures.

Day after surgery

The first day after surgery and my son has taken his first steps. Pins were angled into both feet. So far the right foot is causing him more pain. He should be discharged from hospital tomorrow.
